The MP for the Ribble Valley is putting his weight behind a campaign to keep ruralpubs at the heart of the community.
Nigel Evans is backing the Pub is the Hub initiative to get the message out at how important they are to the neighbourhood.
Village pub at the heart of the communityA YEOFORD pub is celebrating being highly commended in the Calor Rural Pub in the Community Awards.
The Mare & Foal was praised by judges for taking on village services including a local shop since 2005. Landlady Karen Duxbury-Watkinson said: "Our aim is to become the heart of the community and we feel we are well on the way to achieving this. "Although it is very rewarding to have received this award and we are proud of what we have achieved here, we won't be resting on our laurels and will continue to play an important part of village life in Yeoford."
